 Good Evening!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was beautiful out!

In PE, today the students played dodgeball and were practicing their participation! They had a blast!

In Music we continued with the Cup rhythm practice! We will be trying a whole group activity with them later in the week. This is fun to see and watch!

In our writing today, we continued working on and building our ideas about the stories that we are going to write based on Indigenous stories. We discussed as a class the retelling of the story the Rainbow Crow.  The students did a great job at remembering the story! In the afternoon session of writing, we continued to plan our own narratives in a similar way. Students were asked to plan in a way that suited them. Some chose lists, others chose webs, others chose timelines. Once students had planned out their stories including the problems the creatures had to overcome to receive their traits, the students then were to storyboard. This is a different way to plan for students. It allows them to showcase their stories and ideas through pictures to build their narratives off of.

The students got to partake in their first in the Learning Commons and take out books. Please make sure your child is respecting the books. They are to be returned in two weeks.

In Social, we discussed the Queen's funeral and who the Queen was and her relation to Canada. We gave a moment of silence. We also discussed Terry Fox and his relation to Canada and why we are going to run for his charity on Wednesday. We learned about how far he actually ran and how long he ran for. We will continue to learn more about him before we run. Please make sure you are sending in your Toonies for Terry to help with cancer research.

Have a good evening.
