Good afternoon Families!
Reminder tomorrow is Picture Day! Dress your best. Our pictures are in the afternoon.
This morning in PE we practiced all of our basketball skills. From shooting, to passing, to dribbling and more! It was fun and engaging.
In Writing, we are talking about making generic boring statements in to elaborative and creative ones to add more to our stories. So we discussed the topic of Autumn. I got the students to go around and write down their ideas of the five senses during Autumn. We then discussed how to make some of their topics and ideas blossom into more elaborative detail. We will be practicing tomorrow.
In Math, we did our four questions. Please continue to practice all the basic facts (adding (with regrouping), subraction (with borrowing), multiplication and division) at home with your child. It will help build their fluency! We reviewed algebraic equations and then they worked on practicing them. We will review tomorrow what an equation looks like.
We read another chapter of Thirst today. I got the students to write in their visual journals and focus on important things in the book. There is a list in the picture.
In Makerspace, the students were to be creative and create a trap to capture a scorpion that they saw when they were walking in the desert.
In Health, students reviewed the difference between the four different peer problems that can occur. They then divided themselves up into groups to rehearse a skit that they will present to the class. The skits include a problem that is happening at school and the students have to act it out and then add the process of how to solve the problem.
I hope you have a lovely evening.
Miss. Hillier
