 Good Afternoon!

Please check to see if you have signed consent to photogrpah your child and put them on the blog and or the school website. The students are creating wonderful things at school and we would love yo share it with you all!

In PE, today the students played another version of dodgeball called Pin Protector. They had to protect bowling pins from being stolen from their zone. If anyone knocked them down they got to steal the pin to their side. The other way that they could gain pins is through getting a ball in the basket of the opponents' nets or by catching an opponents' ball, then they could grab a pin from the middle. If the students got hit in the legs they had to do five jumping jacks in the back of their zone. The students had a blast!

In Writing, the students as a class began to write a beginning to a class story that we are writing. They all had great ideas that we voted on as a class to continue to build our story. We also looked at adding description and juicy words to the beginning to grab and hook the reader even more! We will continue to work on our class beginnings before the students begin their own beginnings.

In Math, we continued talking about place value. We delved in to the thoughts on millions. It is a hard concept for students to understand when introducing because it is such a large number. We also discussed how many money bills it would take to get one million dollars.

We read Chapter 24 and 25 of Pax. Students are continuing to pick out the most important information that they hear while listening to Pax.

In Makerspace, students were tasked with the idea to create a Jack-o-lantern from the materials that were pulled out during this time. They were fantastic!

In Science, students are all working on their Wetlands Zone Poster along with the animals that fit in that zone of the wetland! They are looking awesome! Cannot wait to show you!

Have a lovely evening!

Miss. Hillier
