 Good evening!

Indoor Recess Fun!

Today in PE, the students are learning how to dribble the soccer ball! The game they played was similar to another they played earlier this year.

  • 2 Teams à One team starts as the dribblers and the other team starts as throwers
  • Dribblers:
    • Start at far end of the gym in safe zone
    • When the music starts they try to dribble to the other safe zone, grab a bean bag, and then dribble back
    • If their ball touches a pylon at any point they must go back to the safe in which they were last in
    • Remind dribbles to stay in control with little touches and to trap the ball whenever they feel necessary
    • Remind students to not use their hands when trying to reach the safe zone
  • Throwers:
    • Each thrower gets one ball… that will be the only ball they use
    • When the dribblers begin, the throwers will attempt to hit the soccer balls with their dodgeball
    • Throwers are NOT trying to hit people
    • Throwers must throw from behind the benches/yellow cones but can enter the middle to retrieve their ball

In Writing, the students continued to work on their main events. We will be writing them on the computer next. They are looking great!

In Math, we practiced writing and saying numbers in the thousandths. Students are continuing to build their knowledge and understanding of decimals. We will be moving to decimals and number lines next.

We finished our class novel of Thirst! Ask your students how it ended!

This afternoon, the students worked on their reading stations.

In makerspace, they had their choice of activity. Here are some creations:

This afternoon, the students watched Bill Nye to help present the ideas of chemistry. Students needed to write down two things they learned from watching.
Students continued to work on their Province Posters!

Have a great evening!
