 Good afternoon!

Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather. It is below 20 all this week so make sure you are sending your child with all the essentials on how to get to and from the school.

In PE, the students were practicing their stick handling and shooting in the game Ultimate Stop Shot. They had to stick handle to a poly spot and then shoot their shot at a net while one student who was the goalie had to protect all the nets. The had a blast.

In Writing, students are working on typing up their beginnings and planning their middles for their Flaws to Traits Stories.

In Math, we are wrapping up algebra with puzzles to make the students think and remember the rules for algebra. They have been understanding it more and more. We will be moving on to a new topic next week.

We have read up to Chapter 23 in Thirst. The students used their knowledge of what they have heard to identify different character traits about Minni and what evidence from the novel can support that. Students will be working on another project and a reflection about the novel so far.

In Makerspace, the students were tasked to create something that keeps them warm during a cold day using the materials provided for them but had to think outside of the box rather than just a car or house.

For Social this afternoon, we learned about why we wear a poppy around this time. We watched a video explaining the poem Why Wear a Poppy . We discussed what peace means at this time as well as what Remembrance Day is at this time. We then made poppies for our poppy wall in the hallway as well as poppies for our wreath for the Remembrance Day celebration.

Stay warm!

Miss. Hillier
