Good afternoon!
Tomorrow we are having our Remembrance Day ceremony. Please dress in red to support those we are going to remember. Tomorrow Parent/Teacher Conference bookings open up so please be sure to book your time.
In PE, the students played games of floor hockey, putting their skills to the test!
In Music, we played Boomwhackers to different songs to practice our note identification.
Today, for Thirst we started our assignments and the students had time to work on them during class. We will have more time to do this.
In Math, we continued to practice algebra but in a different way by using symbols to help solve problems. Student were engaged and all had different ways to solve the problems. We then started talking about our new concept of decimals. Each table group had to discuss a number that I had given, and explain why they thought their answer was the correct. We then discussed what a decimal is, it is a part of a whole. In the place value chart it is on the furthest right hand side of the ones place. We practiced playing with the numbers by using mainpulatives and the place value chart while creating numbers.
In Writing, students began to finish up their beginnings. We will be moving on to our middles soon.
This afternoon, the students finished working on their word clouds for Social; we also finished up our Science by discussing food chains and food webs. We played a game to reinforce what a food web looks like in action.
Stay Warm!
Miss. Hillier
