 Good afternoon Families,

A reminder to make sure your child brings their shoes back to school. 

In PE, the students did Crazy Hockey! The concept is very similar to Crazy Soccer but they were playing hockey instead!

In Music, the students began to practice a rhythm game with body percussion added to the song. It is a challenge but the students seemed to enjoy themselves. 

In Math, we continued to review Decimals. Today, we reviewed how to order decimals. We used the strategies we learned from before the break to practice. 

We moved our desks today! This gives the students a chance to work and sit beside someone they chose and may have never worked with before.

In Writing, we are learned about different grammar skills. Today, we learned about capitalization and what items need to be capitalized when we are writing. 

This afternoon, the students got new reading groups, so they went through a station with their new group. 

In Social, we started learning about the different regions of Canada, by learning about what makes a region important. The students are practicing their note-taking skills. 

In Science, we continued on with our Water Property science experiments. We will be moving on to different topics soon.

  Good afternoon Lovely Grade 5 Parents and Guardians, I hope you had a lovely day! We sure did at school! Tomorrow is Spirit Day at school so please wear Purple (if you can) for Grade 5! We are also going on a walking Field Trip tomorrow to the Coventry/Country Hills Storm Pond. Please make sure that your child is dressed for the weather as it may rain in the afternoon. We are going from about 1:45-3:15.  This morning the students had their first music class. We learned about different vocabulary for music terms and about different instruments. We then played Rhythm Master! The students had a blast! We continued to work on our writing piece about either their summer vacations or what they are excited and nervous about in Grade 5. We are almost complete so it will be nice to hear what students did over the summer or what they are looking forward to this year. We moving forward we will be looking at how to create rich paragraphs by expanding and adding details.  In Math, we started our

 Good afternoon Families, It is Miss. Hillier's last day tomorrow! Tomorrow is PJ Day so come dressed in something comfy! In PE, the students are working on their jump rope skills. They are practicing different tricks while jumping rope there are many different ones and they increase in difficulty.  In Writing, we are continuing on with our grammar work! We learned about verbs today. There are different types: action verbs (describe what is being done) and linking verbs (linking the subject to the adjective).  In Math, the students continued to work on an assignment based around Coordinate Geometry. The students have to create a city within the Coordinate Plane. They have to include certain places in their city. They have to create the places using different 2D polygon shapes. Once they have completed the city, they have to write out the coordinates for each shape and label the shape. After they have done that, they need to create 4 questions related to direction within the Coordin
